Daring Derek performed at my son's 7th birthday party in December 2009. I discovered Derek when Googling magicians over the internet but had never heard of him before. Just the same I took a chance at booking him even though I was unsure of what to expect. I'm now happy to report that taking that chance was one of the best things I could have ever of done for my son. Derek performed for 25 children who couldn't stop talking about how amazing he was even days after the party (as reported by my son). He incorporated my son Stefano into his show, who although can be somewhat shy at times, had a blast performing in front of his friends. No one was more of a star than him when a rabbit suddenly appeared in a box! Derek's friendly manner, patience, and incredible humor truly made for a fantastic show and party for all the children and adults who attended. Thank you Derek for making my son's birthday such a memorable one that I'm sure both he and I will NEVER forget. One VERY satisfied client,Antonella :)
Daring Derek put on a great show at my sons birthday party. Not only were the kids completely mesmerized (which allowed me an opportunity relax during a party I was hosting!) but the adults were completely enthralled as well. Im going to recommend Derek to all my friends!
"I had watched Derek perform last year at the Kraft Christmas party (*for about 500 people!) and was very impressed with his show. When I had to organize the party at our office this year, I immediately googled Derek and contacted him right away. I am happy to say that our Christmas party was a huge success with Derek and his show being the crowning glory. Everyone was impressed with the way he held the attention of those little kids for over 45 minutes. I can truly say that I have never been able to keep my 2 year old boy still for such a long time! He made balloon animals for each child and everyone left with a big smile on their face. Your show was fantastic. I was a little worried at times because my son was barely breathing since he was laughing so hard. The jokes were right up his alley. I saw it more as a comedy show for kids (and adults), with some really cool magic tricks in between. My son and his friends still talk about it and I think they always will. Some were most impressed with the balloon animals and for others their favourite part was being able to pet and hold your bunnies. Other parents that were there really enjoyed the show themselves and REALLY loved watching my son enjoy it so much. I especially have wanted to email you since attending another kid's party where they had a magic show and it was dull, not funny, and the person performing was not even very kind to the kids. It was awful on it's own but in comparison to yours it was really terrible.
Having Daring Derek at my daughter's 6th birthday party made the event a success! The kids (who ranged from age 3 to 7) absolutely loved him as did the parents watching! His energy and enthusiasm was amazing and the kids were instantly engrossed! We did a magic hat craft with the kids before hand and Derek incorporated this into his show with ease and the kids loved it. He really got the kids participating and interacting with him which was great. His magic tricks were awesome and it was a really great, great hour. The kids loved holding the magic bunny at the end and the balloon animals were the best I've ever seen. Derek was also very professional and arrived on time, even staying a little later than expected.
